The skill of saying 'No' - Uncovered.

    Do you feel like you're in an endless struggle of egos with your little one, that you're not getting the right response from them, that you keep losing your cool and lashing out or just giving in to their demands, and that your relationship with them is best described as one filled with conflicts and confrontations? If most of your interaction with your child is negative and disciplinary, your connection with them may suffer. Overusing the word 'No' might take you down this road. "No" is a powerful word that is easy to utter and quick on the lips. Your child will frequently hear you use this term, and you will listen to it from your child. A parent must learn to say "no" to a kid so the youngster can subsequently say "no" to himself. Delaying gratification is difficult for all children and some adults. Grown - up children Vs. Grown - up parents.

Hi all, Having been away for quite some time, I've decided to return. I've been forced to pause and reflect on how I'm evolving as a parent because of a particular circumstance.     A question for everyone: Has anybody ever ripped to shreds or scratched over rules in public places because they claim they're being mocked or "Bullshit!"? Do not lecture us, as if we do not know how to use it. We already know.' Secondly, instead of continual nagging or shouting about it, can't we use some new ways to inculcate discipline or the necessary etiquettes in our homes? (Who listens to it in the first place...) Also, when we grew older, did we dare to defy our parents? Is listening to parents considered crap? You must think that I've gone insane.
